Pastured Poultry enjoys fresh air, grass, and room to roam.

Pastured Poultry

The pastured poultry is Ben's hobby. He started out with 50 Cornish Cross chicks in a metal tank.  Once they were old enough to survive outside, they were moved to the chicken tractor. The chicken tractor is a mobile pen that can be moved to fresh grass. We butchered them at around 8 weeks old. The chickens are shrinkwrapped and frozen, ready for you to pick up!

I recommend brining your chicken before cooking.  The brining allows the meat to stay juicy and tender.  If you check the labels on grocery store chicken, you will notice that it is always brined.  My go to recipe for brine is 1/2 cup salt and 1/2 cup sugar in 2 quarts of water. Our favorite way to cook the chicken is on the grill.
